Because getting back home is an important goal for many patients, learning proper body mechanics and safety in using household appliances is very important. The Activities for Daily Living Room has all the common household appliances needed to act as a classroom for the homebound rehabilitation patient. Patients are instructed in the proper body mechanics and safety procedures to avoid injury and fatigue while doing what were, normal daily activities. This is usually the last stop before going home for some patients, and this area gives therapists a chance to help them problem solve some of the new challenges they may find once they are back in their home.
