APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS TO WARM SPRINGS SPECIALTY HOSPITAL AT LULINGWarm Springs to Create Therapeutic Garden, A Peaceful Haven for Warm Springs and Seton Edgar B. Davis Patients In celebration of the 1st anniversary of the Warm Springs Specialty Hospital at Luling, during the month of May, Apple Lumber will make a donation from their nursery sales to help fund the design and creation of a Warm Springs therapeutic garden. As a continuum of care, Warm Springs will create a therapy garden that can be enjoyed by Warm Springs and Seton Edgar B. Davis patients, families, friends and staff. "The garden will be designed to provide a beautiful and peaceful setting where patients can sit, relax and let their worries or concerns subside," said Brenda Miles, administrator of the Warm Springs Specialty Hospital at Luling. "Many of our patients are in the hospital for lengthy periods and this respite garden can empower them emotionally, physically, and spiritually until they are able to return to their homes." During May, Apple Lumber shoppers are asked to clip the ad that appeared in the Luling Newsboy and use it when making a plant purchase. Apple Lumber will make a donation to Warm Springs at the end of the month to help build the fully accessible garden that will create a place where patients can observe nature up close, stimulating the senses and providing a haven of peace. "This is just a way for us to give back to Warm Springs and the Luling community in appreciation of all they do for the community," said Bret Cappleman, Apple Lumber manager. "The purpose of the garden is to improve the quality of life of the patients," said Miles. "We foresee patients enjoying the fresh air, the colorful flowers, and the social interaction with others in an outdoor setting." Warm Springs will celebrate its 1st year anniversary on Thursday, May 20 from 9:30 11:00 a.m. at the Warm Springs Specialty Hospital at Luling. Everyone is invited to attend the celebration as we thank the community for their continued support as we serve the patients of this area. Caring for Texans for over 65 years, Warm Springs is committed to helping patients maximize their recovery by offering long-term acute care and rehabilitation services. |
