Q: 1. Will Warm Springs send my hospital bill to my insurance company or will I have to do that?

A: We will bill any insurance company for which you have provided us complete information: including address, policy number, group number, etc. We must have a signed authorization from you permitting us to file a bill with your insurance company.

Q: 2. How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?

A: Generally, it takes 45 to 60 days to obtain payment from your insurance carrier. We will work with them for up to 120 days to resolve your bill. We also will inform you if we are not able to resolve your bill. If it is not resolved within 120 days, the payment becomes your responsibility.

Q: 5. I received notice that my insurance company has paid part of my bill, but I don’t understand how they calculated the payment amount. Can you help me?

A: For answers to any questions about insurance payments, deductibles or co-payments, please contact your insurance carrier. If we have received information from your insurance carrier, we will gladly share it with you.

Q: 6. Why am I getting bills from physicians?

A: Each physician who provides professional services will send you a separate bill from his or her office.
These may include:
1. Your primary physician
2. Other physicians who conducted tests and procedures
3. Consulting physicians chosen by your primary or attending physician to read and interpret test results.

If you have questions about the physicians’ bills or related insurance coverage, please call the physician’s office.

Q: 7. Does Warm Springs offer payment options?

A: Total payment is expected for the patient’s portion of the medical bill at the time of discharge. Co payment is also expected before services for an outpatient visit. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. If you are unable to pay the full balance, we can arrange monthly payments based on an approved payment schedule.
